Curzon Ashton - Unibond League

At first glance you would be forgiven for thinking that our front page photo this week was taken at some kind of motoring event. In fact the image comes from the Tameside Stadium, Richmond Street, home of Curzon Ashton Football Club, members of the Unibond League.

On his visit there this year chief FGIF correspondent Richard writes: 'The match was a Pre-Season Friendly between Curzon Ashton and Nottingham Forest played on 28 July. I went with a Forest fan, a friend of my wife. At half-time there was much activity behind one of the goal mouths, we thought it was some sort of accident. We found out at full time it was!

Although the sequence of events wasn't quite clear, Richard adds his own version of events suggesting...'The car was automatic so the driver probably pressed the throttle and jumped the car park wall!'

Curzon Ashton went on to win this P-S F game 2-1.

If you can come up with an alternative scenario or amusing caption to fit the photo get in touch and we will add it here (WebEd)...so send in your ideas today!
