Parts of the ground, to be shared with the town’s professional rugby league club, are still unfinished, so the match has been made all-ticket. Tickets (£8) are available in advance, but will be on sale, to buyers using either cash or a cheque, on the day of the game from the ticket office at the stadium. The turnstiles, and food and drink concessions on the concourse, will open at 6.30pm. The north side of the main West Stand has been set aside for home fans, with away supporters occupying the south segment. No standing tickets are available owing to ongoing construction work'. Sunday 25 January - TT No.131: Mike Latham - 'Opportunities to tick off historic grounds for a first team game within one hundred and fifty miles of home are becoming increasingly few for me so I was grateful to a groundhopping friend of mine for locating this particular fixture that came with the added luxury of a Thursday afternoon kick-off'. Sunday 25 January - Latest Images: Gary Spooner - Picture Exclusive! Our star snapper sends us the very best ground, action and matchday images following his visit to Eagle Valley, new home of Arnold Town (Northern Counties East League Premier Division) v Thackley played yesterday. All photos now added to the NEW USer Album for January 2009. In his latest contribution to FGIF Gary writes: 'At last! After many false starts Arnold finally moved to Eagle Valley. First impressions were of a sludge filled carpark. The heavy rain of last week had obviously had an effect. My really clean car is now really dirty and my shoes look like they have been left in a cement mixer for a week! Entering the front door of the building gets you to a large clubhouse with giant TV screen. An excellent 48 page colour programme was purchased from behind the bar. No clubshop as yet, but I was told that there soon will be. The programme was superb and featured lots of pictures and references to Eagle Valley. The ground has two covered stands either side of the centre circle. The larger of the two is seated. There is a rail and hard standing all round with a wooden fence around the outside of the ground. Cracking view of fields and trees as you look out from the seats. There is also a refreshment bar which was doing roaring business from the bumper crowd. The game itself is also worthy of a mention. Arnold raced into a two goal lead, only to be pegged back to 2-2 at half time. Arnold then took the lead with a diving header. There followed chances at both ends but no further score so Arnold started life at Eagle Valley with a win.
I'm sure the coming months will see many hoppers visit Eagle Valley. On the basis of yesterday, you are assured of a friendly welcome and a fantastic programme. It is not so certain that you will get a game as entertaining though!'
