Sunday 28 March - Latest Images: Gary Spooner - the very best ground, action and matchday photos from Loughborough FC (North Leicestershire League Premier Division) v Sutton Donnington played yesterday now added to the NEW User Uploads Album for March 2010...

As Gary (our Leicester based correspondent) writes: 'Went to Loughborough FC yesterday for a North West Leicestershire Premier League game v Sutton Bonnington. Not sure if you have been there (perhaps in Mid Comb days?) but I would definitely recommend a visit if possible.  I rang the secretary John Belton (number on NWL website) and he was most helpful with directions. Also had a chat with him at ground inbetween his linesman, groundsman and secretarial duties. In fact I'd go as far to say that John does just about everything! I found him to be both friendly and interesting.  The ground itself has four (!) separate covered areas. Most amazing of all at this level is the fact that Loughborough issue a programme for EVERY home game.  Even more amazing is that said prog contains 20 pages of which only 2 are adverts and the match details are on the front cover - a superb effort!  Admission was free as was the programme though eventually John accepted a pound.  Well worth it!  No refreshments available (would be a bit much to expect John to do that as well). Attendance varied between four and about ten but I had an excellent afternoon out and I was back home in time for Final Score (game kicked off at 2).

Addendum - Gary also adds: 'The Drome has been sold for redevelopment and The Luffs should have been moving to a newly built ground at the start of next season. Unfortunately the credit crunch has put paid to the new ground for the time being.  However the club has a "retain or relocate" clause so can continue to use The Drome until redevelpoment eventually takes place'.

Sunday 28 March - Latest Images: Paul Roth - Our leading correspondent brings us the very best pictures from the Middlesex County League Senior Open Cup Quarter-Final tie at Sporting Hackney (v Willesden Constantine) played yesterday...now added to the NEW User Uploads Album for March 2010...TT to follow...

Thursday 25 March - Programme Review: Andy Gallon - A collectors item from the game that never was!! Cover scan and details from Scarborough Town (Wearside League) v New Marske SC postponed last night now added to the PR page for March 2010...

It was a pretty frustrating as Andy explains:  'The game billed as Scarborough Town's first match under floodlights was postponed, though not on this occasion because of the weather. George Pindar Community Sports Centre, where the Wearside League club play their home games, hired eight portable floodlights to help Town take on New Marske SC and reduce their huge backlog of fixtures. With about 250 fans in the ground, one of the lights failed shortly before kick-off. A portable back-up was brought in, and after much messing about finally got going, but when another set of lights then went out, the referee called the match off - without a ball being kicked in anger. Fans were either refunded their admission money or offered free entry to the next home game. Here's a programme review from the match that never was. Can this awful season get any worse?'

'...talking of fixture backlogs, this means Town now have 16 games to play before May 15. Only three are scheduled for May, so that's 13 in April alone. Part-time players, too!! FC Halifax's home game was waterlogged off the previous night, and (we) now have 11 games to play in the last 29 days of the season. Plus two more if we end up in the play-offs. It's a joke. I know it's World Cup year, but why can't the season, after the worst winter in a generation, simply be extended?'

Monday 22 March - TT No.190: Andy Gallon - 'Clayborn is a pleasant little set-up near the foot of the Spen Valley, and a visit during daylight hours affords the best opportunity to enjoy the scenery. It's hidden away at the bottom of a single track road - Quaker Lane - dropping steeply between houses. Given the constrained access, the ground's spacious setting comes as a surprise.'. Andy and Emma stay closer to home to bring us words and pictures from their visit to Liversedge (Northern Counties East League Premier Div) v Nostell MW played on 20/03/10...it's a lovely read with some fantastic action pictures featuring two of the goals scored...wow!

Andy writes: 'I was down in Chesterfield this morning (16/03) to secure tickets for the final Football League match at the Recreation Ground (or Saltergate) on May 8th. It was the first day of general sale. The 8,504-capacity ground, the oldest still staging Football League fixtures, was open, so I took the opportunity of securing some internal, as well as external, shots of a traditional venue dating from 1884, but destined only for the wrecker's ball. It will become a housing estate. You'll also find some external views of the club's new ground, the £13m b2net Stadium, which is under construction next to the A61 at Whittington Moor, on the site of a former glass factory, and scheduled to open in June'.

Tuesday 16 March - TT No.187: Chris Freer - 'Set in a suburban area, the ground is showing its age, although the cover behind either goal is of the cantilever variety, protecting the otherwise crumbling raised terracing. Gyles writes: 'Further to visiting the above clubs, I have the following information regarding ground moves:

Almondsbury Town

With a 12 month extension to their lease on the table and a Southern League ground grading, it would be a surprise if Almondsbury Town are still not at Oakside Park next season, but talks are still on going about a move elsewhere. The Gloucestershire FA has submitted plans, presumably to begin at the end of next season, to completely renovate the existing building, which contains offices and Almondsbury Towns clubhouse, this would leave the football club without a major part of their revenue source.  One option is to build a new structure solely for the football club at the far end of the ground, but with the Gloucestershire FA also wanted to replace the existing pitch with a 3G pitch that would seem a waste of money, so a move elsewhere is inevitable.

Silsden AFC

Although I am not up to speed with progress at their Keighley Road ground, a committee member was very keen to point out that it was “5 games and counting” before their move back home.

Westella & Willerby

I know this may have been talked about at the hop fixture last weekend, but a member of the club said on Saturday (13th March) that Westella & Willerby would definitely not be at the Blackburn Leisure Sports & Social Club next season due to the second year ruling on floodlights. Although rumours have been doing the rounds regarding a ground share with Hall Road Rangers, talks about where they will be playing next season are ongoing'.

On production of the Sandgate programme, Groundhoppers can receive a £2 discount on the normal entrance fee."

Friday 12 March - TT No.183: Justin Holmes - 'There is a small seated stand along one side of the pitch which offers a good and relatively comfortable view of the action, and a small covered area for standing on the other side, and along both sides there is plenty of banked open terracing. Trees lining either length of the ground make this stadium slightly more attractive than may be anticipated'. Another cracking report from our intrepid hopper as Justin takes in the Ryman League Division 1 North fixture at Waltham Forest (v Maldon Town) played on 11/03/10...hopping heaven!
