This is entitled: Grounds for Divorce... Leon cites Saturday's poor weather as his main inspiration: 'When my I turned up at Beccles Caxton on Saturday afternoon to find the game postponed because of a waterlogged pitch (the pitch was bone dry and in perfect shape), I found myself at home with nothing to do. So I started a blog. Not entirely sure where's it going but I guess it's another way of trying to justify the money I spent on football...Have a look and if anyone wants to link me and have me do the same for them, let me know. Also if anyone spots anything that's wrong or could be done a better way, let me know'. Tuesday 17 November - TT No.96: Bob Davies - 'With heavy rain falling on our arrival it took a pitch inspection at 2.15pm to declare this game officially on'. Monday 9 November - TT No.84: Bob Davies - 'The ground looks to be in a state of refurbishment with new seats being put in place behind the far goal (The Dog End Stand). The standing accommodation on the left hand side of the ground is also looking new and will be replicated on the opposite side as well as soon as time allows. Work has begun on a new perimeter fence as well. With three sides covered the ground can comfortably provide cover for over 1000 people'. Monday 9 November - TT No.83: Mike Latham - 'Once inside the favourable first impression is built upon. The ground is simply immaculate with not a rail not newly painted nor a piece of litter or graffiti anywhere. Should the team ever rise up the pyramid there is plenty of space to develop more accommodation but the moment the facilities are more than adequate though there may be a lack of cover on a rainy day'. It's a trip down south for Mike as he takes in the Northern Counties East League Division 1 match at Staveley Miners Welfare (v Brighouse Town) played on 07/11/09...complete with the very best photos...it's a cracking read from what sounds like a terrific game! Monday 9 November - TT No.82: Andy Gallon - 'Whickham claim to have one of the smallest budgets in the Northern League. But, their programme states, they aim to be one of its friendliest clubs.... football needs grassroots clubs such as Whickham to survive and prosper because they represent the very heart and soul of the game'. Fresh air is the perfect tonic if you have been laid load with a virus. What better way to do this than travel to Whickham (v Northallerton Town) for the Northern League Division 2 fixture played at the Glebe Sports Ground on 07/11/09...complete with matchday photos this is another cracking (germ free) read... Monday 9 November - Latest Images: Stephen Gray - check out the ground, action and matchday photos from Boston Town (United Counties League Premier Division) v Long Buckby played on 07/11/09 now added to the NEW User Uploads Album for November 2009.. Monday 9 November - TT No.81: Paul Roth - 'The venue is the current home of that fallen footballing giant, Southall FC, and is a setting so far removed from their magnificent long-standing, former abode in Western Road that you might mistakenly believe that this cannot be the same club. But it is and we must all be thankful that Southall FC, who've led a peripatetic existence since vacating that locale in 1992, are still going strong...'. A barrel load of goals in Scotland and then an AWFUL 0-0 at Soham yesterday. The NLP gave it 2 stars for entertainment - I'd have given it none!' Monday 9 November - TT No.80: Chris Freer - 'At close quarters New Douglas Park turns out to be a bit like Falkirk, basically a two-sided ground. The main stand holds the Accies faithful whilst a second stand behind the goal is home to the visitors from just down the road, local rivals Motherwell. There’s a load of scaffolding behind the other goal, so maybe something is being developed here, but on the far side there’s an empty temporary stand, looking like it last saw service at Hickstead'. A magnificent account as our ace reporter travels up to Scotland for the Scottish Premier League derby match at Hamilton Academical (v Motherwell) played on 07/11/09...but who's the guy in the white suit? Monday 9 November - TT No.79: Rob Campion - 'The ground is the typical village recreation ground affair with facilities shared with the local cricket club. The cricket pavilion was open and did a brisk trade at half time selling tea and coffee for 50p. The pitch was roped off on the cricket side with the village church providing the backdrop to the setting on a chilly November afternoon'. It's another superb report from Rob as he takes in the Midland Regional Alliance Premier Division match at Melbourne Dynamo (v Chellaston) played on 07/11/09... inspirational stuff...you'll love it! Monday 9 November - Latest Images: WebEd - check out the latest ground, action and matchday photos from Kodak (Harrow) FC v Indian Gymkhana in the Middlesex County League Senior Open Cup Round 2 played on 07/11/09 now added to the Last Match Album (No.50) for 2009-2010... Friday 6 November - Latest Update Bristol City FC: Andy Gallon - writes: 'Bristol City FC update: The Championship club have moved closer to getting the green light to build a 30,000-seat stadium on a Green Belt site at Ashton Vale after a packed meeting of city planners lasting more than four hours. With Robins manager Gary Johnson and chief executive Colin Sexstone looking on, the planning committee returned a 7-2 verdict in favour of being "minded to approve" the £100m project, in line with council officers' recommendations. However, a planned housing development at Southlands, which would contribute about £5.5m to the overall cost, remains a sticking point, and is unlikely to be sanctioned. The Robins also need to work on proposals for pedestrian access to the stadium, to be located about half a mile from their present Ashton Gate home in the south of the city. Club officials will now meet with planners again in six months' time. Residents are not taking the latest development lying down, and have applied for Ashton Vale to be given Town Green status, which could potentially scupper the whole project'. Friday 6 November - Latest Images: Stephen Gray - the latest ground, action and matchday photos from Bob and Stephen's visit Grantham Town (Unibond League Division 1 South) v Chasetown played on 31/10/09 now added to the NEW User Uploads Album for November 2009...top notch!
