Tuesday 31 August - TT No.37: Paul Roth - 'Fully railed and illuminated by eight floodlight pylons with two impressive juxtaposed grandstands - painted in the club's colours of green and yellow - a vibrant photo-festooned clubhouse, a two-manned(!) pay box at its entry point, similarly coloured goal netting to the aforementioned viewing structures, coupled with the overwhelming feeling the arena exudes of being well-loved, leads the visitor to correctly surmise that 'The Daffodils' must once have been a major force in Welsh football'. He's back! Monday 23 August - TT No.27: Richard Panter - 'The ground itself harks back to the late 1920s and, as is the case at many similar venues, has the former coal mining industry to thank for its existence. There is a replica pit headstock (lift winding wheel) on some now derelict land just beyond the eastern perimeter of Oak Park'. Monday 23 August - TT No.26: Bob Davies - 'What a game this was, probably the best I've seen so far this season...both sides open to an attacking game'. Monday 23 August - TT No.25: Gyles Basey-Fisher - 'The changing rooms are at the bottom end next to the car park and house four teams and two officials changing rooms. As you would expect with a College facility, there are a number of pitches hosting football and rugby as well as a full size 3G pitch, which was also hosting a friendly match. The match was played on the main pitch, which wasn't roped off as this is only a requirement at senior level'. As Bob explains: 'The first game was a SSML Premier Division match between Colney Heath and Stotfold at 3pm. This game resulted in a 2-0 win for visiting Stotfold their first win after returning to the SSML from the UCL this season. It was then a very short trip down the road to London Colney FC (SSML Div.1) as they hosted the Herts Senior County League Division One game between newcomers London Colney Blues (who confused matters slightly by playing in red!) and Goffs Oak. Both teams were making their debut in the League but Goffs Oak will certainly feel happier after recording an impressive 5-1 win'.
