TT No.135: Andy Molden - Mon 1st April 2013; Abingdon Town v Kidlington; Hellenic League Premier Division;    Result: 0-4; Attendance: 40 (headcount); Admission: £5 including 16 page programme.

Always nice to visit Abingdon Town, today was the Abfordton or Kidfordon derby with Oxford's southern suburb

matched against it's northern one. Everyone knew each other which usually means one of two things either they are

kicking lumps out of each other or the game is played in a good mannered way - it was the latter hardly any

swearing and only one booking.

I have to admit I was on first name terms with 75% of the crowd, many whom I have known for a very long time. Though it is nice to see such loyalty these days, I actually knew two ex-Chairmen from Abingdon and one for Kidlington who were at the game.

Neither teams sadly are world beaters this season. Kidlington are having a poor season and Abingdon an awful one.

There was only going to me one winner today and that was the Kiddy boys. Abingdon tried hard enough but Kiddy

were slightly better all round.

A first for me as one of Kidlington's subs (who looked 13 years old) managed to eat a portion of chips in the first half before entering the fray in the second period.

The referee kicked the game off at 3pm and added hardly any stoppage time; we kicked off the second half at 4pm and the game was over by 4.46pm. I had almost got home by the time Aldershot v Oxford United had finished, which I was listening to on the car radio.
