As the first sign of the eagerly awaited Spring weather beckoned I took advantage of a visit to a ground with a bit less in facilities than I been used to in the last couple of months.

My first new ground of 2015 as Westmill, 8th in the Hertford & District League Premier Division, took on Hemel Hempstead Rovers, top of the West Herts League Premier Division, with a 100% record.

Westmill can be located just South of Buntingford on a right turn just off the A10. There's not much in the way of parking but no restrictions along the road beside the ground. No facilities other than the dressing room building but I believe they were selling tea from here as well but I did not partake. On the far side of the ground opposite the changing room building is the River Rib. Due to this, the obligatory long pole with netting is situated nearby for any wayward clearances.

Rovers, after an initial even start to this game, took command and booked their place in this seasons final with two goals in each half with a comfortable performance that the home side couldn't match. On the way out towards the A10, another first for the season as I was delayed by a farmer moving his sheep between fields!
