TT No.53: Ian Brown - Sat 6th February 2016; Wawne United v Hessle Rangers; Humber Premier League;      Venue: Kingswood Academy, Hull; Result: 1-2; Admission and Programme: None; Att: 22; Catering: N/A

The Mersey Mafia & The Sofa Bear decided to head east in order to do Hall Road Rangers, checking the forum and keeping up to date with the club's twitter feed. Sadly Hall Road bit the dust soon after midday. As there were 3G options in the Humber Premier League, a decision was made to see the league leaders in action.

The ground is 3g caged and to gain access you go through the main doors and sign in at reception. Advised by the lady on reception there was nowhere for us to get any refreshments as the café was closed and no vending machines on site.

The game was played in windy conditions, sometimes moving the ball for free kicks etc. Hessle played with the wind  in the first half and went ahead just after the half hour. Wawne responded almost immediately when the no. 9  struck a sweet volley from outside the area. Hessle re-took the lead just before the interval.

In the second half Wawne pressed hard and could not find the final ball,  from a robust challenge on the homesters no 9 made him leave the field with a damaged ankle and with that they seemed a bit bereft of ideas in and around the box.

As it was an early kick off, it gave our driver plenty of time to get back and attend a family gathering.
