The new ground of Farnborough North End FC is a bit difficult to locate, especially when you are using a map that is over 20 years old, so if the reader is intending to visit the Cody Sports and Social Club ground, I'm sure they will find it without me going into long drawn out directions of how to get there.

Once there, the venue is quite rural, despite Farnborough Aerodrome being only 1/2 a mile away. Parking is 150 yards from the football pitch. Trees surround half the arena, which is almost completely railed off with green wire fencing and very modern white tubing. A fantastic pavilion caters for the many sports played at the club (Real Ale available at full time and tea and biscuits at half time), and this overlooks the immaculate and very pretty bowls lawn. Floodlights are in situ and red and black goal netting finishes off the place a treat.

I had met up with my oppo Geoff Seers after he had been to watch Tongham's match (11.30am kick-off) and we enjoyed a pint in the Prince of Wales in Farnborough, a good 3 miles from the ground, before arriving near to kick off.

There is no entry gate/turnstile as such, but a roving gateman-cum-programme seller finds you and asks for the £3 entry fee and an extra £1 for the black and white, and good value for money 28 page, programme. Funnily, he quips that Andover New Street are the club's bogey team..."We never beat them".

Just over 2 hours later and that ghost has well and truly been laid to rest, as the homesters rattle in 5 goals before the break, and another 7 after. The truth is that Farnborough NE missed loads of chances this afternoon and if the score had been 20-0 it would have reflected the matchplay better. In all the years I've been watching the "Beautiful Game", this was to be my first 12-niller.

We had thought long and hard which game to go to in the afternoon, as Fleet Spurs were also at home only a mile away (they won 4-2), and I suppose we were lucky to see such a unique game, but I will state here and now, I would not want to watch such a one sided match again for a very long time. Once in a while, okay.

Now, who are Andover New Street playing this Saturday?
